Here are some tips for any upcoming travel both locally and outside of your home country:
- 1. Wear a mask that keep both your mouth and nose are covered when in any public setting, including on hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions, shopping centers, airports, taxis, etc.
- 2. Avoid close contact with anyone outside of your household by staying at least 6 feet apart
- 3. Wash your hands as often as possible with soap and water for at least 20 seconds after using the bathroom and/r after you have been in a public place

Does my health insurance cover COVID-19 testing?
COVID-19 testing is only covered if medically necessary by doctor's orders. You cannot get proactively tested as this would be considered preventive/routine care which is not covered under visitors insurance plans.
I already have a visitor insurance policy for the USA, does it cover coronavirus-related conditions?
This depends on when your policy was purchased as this varies per insurance company. The CDC issued a Warning Level 3 - Global COVID-19 Pandemic Notice including the United States urging travelers to avoid any nonessential international travel. Because of this warning, each insurance company has their own underwriting rules. Please call us at 800-344-9540 with your policy details and we can verify this benefit for you and/or help you buy new a policy.
I want to buy a travel insurance policy because of COVID-19. Is COVID-19 covered by travel insurance plans?

What if the airline canceled my flight because of COVID-19?
If you have purchased a policy from Visitors Insurance and you need to cancel your policy if your flight has been cancelled, we can request a full refund from the insurance company if you are able to show proof of the cancellation and it’s before the effective date.
